HSMUN is a three-day simulation of the United Nations held at Headstart School, Islamabad. The conference is designed for middle and high school students between the ages of 14 and 19. At HSMUN students will gain insights into the workings of the United Nations and practical experience in public speaking and diplomacy.
HSMUN is administered by the Headstart School Model United Nations Society, a decade old student run society with a rich history of Model UN participation in Pakistan and abroad. The society’s MUN program sends delegations to national and international conferences each academic year.
Over the past 5 years Headstart School delegations have received awards for their outstanding diplomacy at international conferences including MUNTR, Turkey, AmityMUN, India, Harvard MUN, China, Yale Model Government Europe Czech, Republic and Hungary, Genoa Model United Nations (GEMUN,) Italy, and most recently 9 awards at Harvard Model Congress Asia, South Korea in 2016.
Our aim has always been to host a conference that could uphold the traditions, values and qualities that keep true to the essence of simulating a conference modeled around the United Nations. For this purpose, HSMUN’s secretariat is entirely comprised of students who have undergone specialized chair training and bring with them a wealth of experience through participation in international conferences.
HSMUN 17 will be hosted at Headstart School Kuri Campus, spread over a purpose built 20-acre facility in the suburbs of Islamabad.
