The Headstart School International Relations Association (HIRA) wishes to invite your institution to participate as a delegation at Headstart School Model United Nations III (HSMUN III). HSMUN is a simulation of the United Nations, where students are tasked to solve the world’s pressing security, humanitarian and political issues as delegates representing UN member states. In its third session, HSMUN will host nine committees and over four hundred high school students from across Pakistan over three days of academic debating and knowledge exchange. The conference is being hosted from 17-19 November 2017 at Headstart School’s Kuri Campus, in Islamabad.
Since 2011, HIRA has represented Pakistan at international conferences in ten countries including the United States, Italy, South Korea, China, Hungary, Czech Republic, Turkey, and India. Our students have proudly carried our country’s flag in conferences hosted by universities including Yale, Harvard, and Georgetown, winning a combined twenty-six diplomacy awards. In January 2018 HIRA’s sixteen-member delegation will represent Headstart School and Pakistan at the 44th session of Yale Model United Nations (YMUN) in New Haven and the 34th session of Ivy League Model United Nations (ILMUNC) in Philadelphia, USA. In doing so, our aim is to continue our rich tradition in bringing accolades to our country, and simulating a conference in Pakistan at par to the ones we participate in internationally.
HIRA strives to host a conference which will uphold the traditions, values and qualities that keep true to the essence of simulating a conference modeled around the United Nations. For this purpose, HSMUN’s secretariat is entirely comprised of students who have undergone specialized chair training and bring with them a wealth of experience through participation in international conferences.
We hope to host you this November at HSMUN III in what we promise will be an experience worth your weight in debate and diplomacy.
